How to form an Alumni Association?

Organizing Committee

  • Start with a core group of 5–5 alumni who are committed to leading the effort
  • Assign roles such as Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, etc.

Define Objectives & Scope

  • Decide whether the association will represent a faculty, department, hostel, student society, or regional alumni group
  • Clarify the mission: networking, professional development, cultural activities, fundraising, or community service

Legal Registration

  • Choose the method of registration:
  • Companies Ordinance (as a limited company) — offers limited liability and separate legal entity status, but involves higher costs and complexity
  • Societies Ordinance (as a society) — simpler, lower cost, but without limited liability
